Spring is right around the corner so it’s time to start planning and working on your body so that you leap into the new season feeling and looking great.
The warmer weather means pulling off the layers and wearing lighter clothing… and, though hard to contemplate at this point – the dreaded swimming costume!
So, what is the best way to prepare your body and have it looking glowing and fresh before the battle with your mind and mirror begins?
Sweetheart Body Scrubs are your secret exfoliation weapon for a smooth and radiant skin. Simply put, exfoliation means removing the top layer of dead cells from the skin. In winter, the cold winds, lower temperatures and dry indoor heating can cause our skin to become dehydrated and dull. To remove the dead cells automatically gives your skin a supple and vibrant makeover.
Our coffee scrub is also perfect to help reduce cellulite, firming and smoothing the skin. Caffeine in coffee and coconut oil are rich in antioxidants, which are very beneficial to your skin.
You should aim to exfoliate two to three times a week. Gently run the scrub over damp skin in a circular motion for about three to five minutes and then simply rinse off and dry with a towel. It’s probably better to do in the shower as it’s easier to rinse away the coffee grains. Make sure to pay particular care to exfoliate areas like your elbows, knees and legs.
After you exfoliate, be sure to use your favourite moisturiser to balance out your skin and add extra moisture. For a great natural moisturiser that works on all skin types, use an organic cold-pressed virgin coconut oil.
One thing to keep in mind – make sure you do your exfoliating several days before having any waxing or chemical hair removal treatments. Not only will it give a better result, it’s also safer. The same goes for spray or fake tans!
Other simple steps for getting your body ready for spring include sipping on lemon water (and drinking more water in general!), eating a low fat, nutrient dense diet (think lots of veggies!!) and avoid sugar and processed foods. If you can, it’s always a good idea to increase your physical activity and exercise – even if it’s just going for a walk every day.
Now get out there and enjoy spring!
